Medevac for skipper of Hull & Humber
Skipper of Hull & Humber, Piers Dudin, has sustained an open fracture to his right leg after a fall on the tenth day of Race 7 to San Francisco. The incident was immediately reported to Falmouth Coastguard and is now in the hands of the Japanese Coastguard who are co-ordinating the medevac.

Strongest winds and high speeds
The last 24 hours have brought another reminder that the ocean gives no quarter to the crews taking part in the Clipper Race - this is serious racing, through towering seas and gales, extremes of heat and cold and, as is forecast in the next 24 to 36 hours, periods of little or no wind at all.

Wild ride
The Pacific is throwing her full weight at the Clipper 09-10 fleet and the last 24 hours have been tough. Now the winds have moved behind the fleet they are making fast progress towards their goal of San Francisco and they should continue to do so for the next few days.

Heavy weather takes its toll
It appears that yesterday's prediction made by Qingdao's skipper, Chris Stanmore-Major, that the worst was still to come has been proved correct. According to the skipper of California, Pete Rollason, the past 24 hours have been extremely tough for all the teams as they race across the Pacific Ocean

The Pacific starts to bite
With the first 1,000 miles of the race to California almost completed, the forecasted low pressure system has finally arrived and the skippers who were cursing the lack of wind yesterday now find themselves with more than they bargained for.

Spirit of Australia advances as fleet parks up

Ready for the open ocean
The skippers and teams of Clipper 09-10 are ready to hit the open ocean again. The frustration of dodging container shipping and fishing fleets is beginning to grate, and the vast emptiness of the Pacific Ocean can't come soon enough.

Changing fortunes
It would be fair to say there's never a dull moment racing through the Yellow Sea. As they settle in to their on board routines at the start of this marathon leg across the vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean, this morning's reports from the teams taking part in Clipper 09-10 are all similar in theme.

A busy first night
Following a successful stopover, a spectacular send-off from Qingdao and an exciting race start, it's been a stop-start night for the teams as they head towards the waypoint off the southern tip of Japan at the start of Race 7 to San Francisco.
